Michael Wargo Obituary

Michael Wargo Sr.
Naugatuck – Michael Wargo Sr., age 92, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn Wargo. Born in Naugatuck on November 23, 1932, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Wargo.
Known affectionately as Mickey, he attended local Naugatuck schools through the eighth grade. He later graduated from Bullard Havens Technical School, where he learned the carpentry trade. In his early twenties, Mickey worked as a carpenter and took great pride in building his family's first home in Naugatuck. They lived there until he and Marilyn moved to New Milford when his career at Kimberly Clark began. Mickey dedicated 35 years to Kimberly Clark before retiring.
During his youth, Mickey was active in 4-H and received several awards. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and racing pigeons, a hobby he enjoyed well into his seventies. Mickey was also passionate about gardening and was known for maintaining the best yard in the neighborhood.
Family was at the center of Mickey's life. He cherished time with his loved ones, and in his later years, found joy in his great granddaughters. Mickey will be remembered for his generosity, dedication, and the positive impact he had on those around him.
Mickey is survived by his son, Michael Wargo, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen; his daughter, Linda Wargo; his granddaughter, Sarah Frank and her husband, Keith; and great-granddaughters, Stella and Addison Frank. He is also survived by his brother, Alec Wargo, and his wife, Ilse, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he treasured.
He was predeceased by his devoted wife of 70 years, Marilyn, his brother George Wargo, sister-in-law Jean Wargo, and niece Cheryl Wargo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. A calling hour will be held that morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hearing Loss Association of America Inc., Hartford Chapter, 288 Great Pond Rd., S Glastonbury, CT 06073-3102.

Mike was an amazing man. From the first day my Husband Dave n I moved next door 13 years ago he was so kind and always willing to help us out with anything. Mike always did the housesitting for us when we were away. We always knew our house was in good hands. He will be missed by the both of us.......Prayers to the family.......
