Michael Wayne Watson Sr. was born on December 9, 1949, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was the second child born to the union of Oscar and Dorothy Watson.

Michael accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. John Baptist Church. He received his education in the Baton Rouge Parish Schools, proudly graduating in 1967, from McKinley Sr. High School.

After graduating high school, Michael joined the United States Airforce in 1968. On May 3, 1969, Michael married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Connis Purnell. Sgt. Michael Watson honorably served his country for 22 years.

Michael was later employed by Publix Grocery. He dedicated his service to Publix for 18 years, retiring as bakery manager.

Loving the Lord, Michael and Connis joined Sweet Home Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Walter T. Richardson. There Michael served faithfully with the Men's Ministry and Married Couples Ministry.

To know Michael, was to love him. He was a kind and gentle man with a humble spirit. He touched the lives of many with his smile and kind heart.
