Michael A Welchel "Mike", age 55 of Albany Wisconsin, formerly of Whittier California, passed away at home on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Mike was born on December 2, 1967, in
Artesia, California and was the son of the late V.A. and Sandra (Smith) Welchel. In 2000, he moved to Wisconsin from California to follow his girl, he was united in marriage on April 10, 2004 to Angela L Delaney at the Methodist Church of Brooklyn. He and his wife have lived the last 9 years at her childhood home in the Township of Albany and surrounding areas before. Mike had a passion for music and playing guitar. He was a self-taught guitar enthusiast of 45 years who would stop at nothing to have that music playing and his head banging to his 80's metal and rock music, while having that guitar in his grips slaying it every time. He was in several bands over the years, played with famous musicians in Hollywood during the 80's, he wrote music, produced songs, and loved teaching the art of guitar playing to others, where he did at the Monroe Arts Center. He also enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping, RC cars, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 20 years, Angela of Albany; mother-in-law, Norma Delaney of Albany; two sisters-in-law Ginger (Orrin) Bond of
Evansville, WI, Autumn (Scott) Edler of
Pearl City, IL; two brothers-in-law, Gregory (Denise) Delaney of Scottsburg, IN and Allen (Theresa) Delaney of Zanesville, IN; 1 nephew, Robert (Linda) Hopkins, CA, 4 nieces, Angie (Rolondo) Leal, OH, Adriana (Bill) Robison, WI, Deana (Kelvin) Mendez, WI and Briana (Caleb) Mendez, WI, 20 great nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends; and a very special nephew, Karl (Allyson) Schoenhard. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his brother Bob, his sister Christine, his father-in-law Joe, and many aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
