Michael White Obituary
October 19, 1948 - January 8, 2026
Michael Aaron White, Age 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8th, 2026, at the Horizon's Care Center in Eckert, Colorado.
Mike was born October 19th, 1948, in Paonia, Colorado to Betty Jane Orton and Melvin Bruce White. He grew up on Rogers Mesa in Hotchkiss, Colorado and graduated from Hotchkiss High School in 1967. He was a member of the Hotchkiss High School State Championship Baseball team in 1964. He attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado and Colorado State College in Greeley (now UNC).
Mike owned an apple orchard on Rogers Mesa, worked at Guthrie's Carpet in Delta, Colorado and was a handyman helping anyone who needed anything done.
Mike is survived by his sons Derek (Terri) White of Alpharetta, Georgia and Jared (Jessica) White of LaGrange, Kentucky, and his grandchildren: Grace White, Jack White, Blake White and Chase Thomas. He is also survived by his sisters Judy Picard of Austin, Colorado and Janie Henderson of Hotchkiss, Colorado, as well as his brother Don (Debbie) White of Hotchkiss, Colorado.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers in law, Don Henderson and Mike Picard, his grandparents Robert and Esther (Isherwood) White and Robert and Maude (Duffy) Orton.
Donations may be made in Mike's name to Hope West Hospice, PO Box 24, Delta CO 81416.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Our family wishes to thank Horizons Care Center for the wonderful care they provided for Mike.
