Michael Wienecke Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 6, 2025.
Michael "Mike" Trent Wienecke, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 2, 2025, at the age of 62 in his home in Helotes, Texas.

Born on March 22nd, 1963, in Key West, Florida, Mike was the second eldest of three sons born to Bobby Lee and Marilyn Frances Wienecke. Alongside his brothers Robert "Rob" Lee Wienecke and Christopher Sean Wienecke, whom he had shared life-long memories with, grew up in San Antonio, Texas.

In school, Mike was a talented pianist and award-winning tuba player in the John Marshall Marching Band. Along with his accomplishments in music, he was an all-star athlete in football and baseball, eventually deciding to focus his talents on baseball. After graduating high school, Mike went on to play Minor League baseball as a pitcher. Following his semi-professional and collegiate baseball career, he went on to become a talented graphic artist starting his own design company, Wienecke Illustration.

Mike met the love of his life, Ann Claire Pittman, as members of their high school marching band in 1979. They reconnected early in 1991 and were married later that year on December 7th. Together they were married for 33 wonderful years. Mike was a proud father to his two sons Trenton "Kyle" Wienecke and Samuel "Sam" Austin Wienecke, who he loved and supported every minute of every day.

Mike was an avid board game player with some of his favorites being Yahtzee, Backgammon, Farkle, and Spades, a dedicated Cowboys fan who supported them whether they won or lost, and a fantastic cook who made every meal delicious, especially his barbecue, which was better than any other. Above all, what made Mike 'Mike' was his unique sense of humor and a smile that could light up any room.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 10am at Zion Lutheran Church, with a reception to follow. Flowers can be sent to Zion Lutheran Church. We also encourage donations to be made in Mike's memory to the American Stroke Association.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
