Michael Wright Obituary
Michael David "Barrell" Wright, age 48, of Longs, SC, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Born February 28, 1977 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of Melita Byerly Wright of Tabor City, NC and Carl David Wright of Nakina, NC.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Kevin Wright (Dawn) of Youngsville, NC; grandfather, John Byerly of Archdale, NC; and two nieces, Addison and Braelyn Wright.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thelma Byerly, Carl and Bertha Wright.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Wright Cemetery, Minos Meares Road.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
Pallbearers will be: Jason Ward, Jason Hilburn, Whitney Hughes, Chad Turbeville, Richie Hinson, and Jason Greene.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Randolph 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203, Donate - Hospice of Randolph, in memory of Michael's grandmother, Thelma Byerly.

So sorry, for your loss he was such an awesome person both my grands from k thru 5 had him as their coach just last we week
the 9r old said oh boy I have gym today with coach wright will miss our talks out side waiting to pick them up may he R.I.P. and may God wrap his arms around the family

He was a PE good coach and the best complimenter soon as I found out about this I went to the store and got a huge sign and some paint and put in loving memory of Coach Wright and put yellow and blue dot for are school colors I went to school with it and showed the principal and we´re gonna hang it up in the gym room I´m so sad he´s gone hope he´s feeling better now thx for the compliments and fist bumps
