Michael Jay Wright, 76 of Dixon passed away Thursday February 19, 2026 at his home. Mike was born on July 14, 1949 in Morganfield to the late J. B. and Alice Wright.
Mike was a proud co-owner of Wright Trucking, a family business founded in 1943 by his father J.B. Wright. Mike purchased his first truck; a white Diamond Reo in 1973, where his CB handle was "White Diamond."
Beyond his work, Mike's greatest joy was his family. His three sons were the source of his proudest moments, and he rarely missed a chance to cheer on his grandchildren at ballgames and special events. He had a deep love for stock car racing and restoring his 1965 Massey Ferguson tractor. He treasured his loyal beagle , Champ.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years Mary Ann Wright of Dixon; 1 daughter Lori Brown(Chance) of Robards; 3 sons Chad Wright (Amy) of Clay, Jay B. Wright (Amber) of Providence, Matthew Wright(Chelsey) of Dixon; 1 sister Shelia Putman(Mike) of Clay; 2 brothers Mark Wright(Rhonda) of Clay, Marty Wright of Providence; 13 grandchildren Will Wright, Aireol Boston(Jeremy), Gracie Brown, Jaycie Wright, Hayden Wright, Addison Wright, Jackson Wright, Madelyn Childress, Colby Clark, William Layton, Hudson Wright, Madilynn Wright, Lillian Wright; 4 great-grandchildren Jagger Boston and Presley Boston, Kaylee Clark and Tatum Layton.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Vanover Funeral Home at 2:30 PM with Brother John Brumfiel officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery in Clay. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM till service time at 2:30 PM at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Anthony's Hospice, 2410 S.
