Michael C. "Mike; Pops" Wright

Michael C. "Mike" Wright - AKA "Pops" – 64 – formerly of Corning NY & Beaver Dams, NY, passed away early Monday morning (April 13, 2026) at the Vincent House in Wayland, following a battle with cancer.

Born in Montour Falls, NY on June 16, 1961, he was the son of Jack & Mary (Smalley) Wright.

Mike grew up in Beaver Dams, NY and throughout the years resided in many locations, including Corning, Dansville, Buffalo, Dundee and Horseheads. While living in Horseheads, he had been employed for a time as a forklift operator at Lowes Home Improvement Store. In his younger years, Mike served as a farm worker as well as a handyman.

Having a love & appreciation of the outdoors, Mike enjoyed hunting & fishing and also enjoyed watching professional wrestling & NFL football on TV.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his former wife, Bonnie Coffee Wright and his beloved dog, Mia.

Surviving are his step-son, Bobby Graham and daughter-in-law, Heidi Phillips of Tioga, PA; along with 2 brothers, James Wright and John Wright.

At Mike's request there will be no calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.

Mike's family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
