Michael R. Ziegler

Michael R. Ziegler, age 85, formerly of Massillon, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026.
He was born February 26, 1940, in Alliance, the son of the late Michael and Myrtle (Shipp) Ziegler.

Michael served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Michael retired from Superior Meats and St. Mary's Church and School.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish/St. Mary's, Massillon K of C Council #554 3rd Degree and Bishop Massillon Assembly 4th Degree, and Orrville Sportsman Club. He was also a member of St. Mary's Choir.
Michael is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Kimberly Ziegler; daughter and son-in- law, Lorie and Steve Hetrick; sister, Shari Gardner; grandchildren, Adele Young and Steven Hetrick; great-grandchildren, Leah and Lucy.
He was preceded in death by wife Kay Donna (Holzbach) Ziegler; and brother, David Ziegler.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Heitger Funeral Home - Massillon Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 A.M. at Divine Mercy Parish/St. Mary's Campus.
Burial to follow the service in St. Mary's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis or Wounded Warriors.
