Obituary of Michaela Catherine Delzell

Micheala Catherine Delzell, age 47, of Iowa City, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Family of Micheala Delzell for future charitable contributions.

Born on January 10, 1978, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Micheala was the daughter of Raymond and Donna (Simpson) Delzell. She attended West High School.

Micheala was united in marriage to Ronald John "R.J." Collins, II. Together they had two children, Jalen and Madison. The couple later divorced. Micheala attended La James International College and worked as a Cosmetologist for more than 20 years. The proudest time of her life was working as a Police Officer for the City of Washington. Micheala was also a physical trainer, and she enjoyed teaching cycling classes.

In her spare time, Micheala enjoyed baking and following the Iowa Hawkeyes. She loved playing cards, especially Euchre with her grandma.

Micheala's family includes her children, Ronald J. "Jalen" Collins, III of Wayland, and daughter, Madison (Dylan) Yeager of Eglin, Florida; a grandson, Collins Yeager; her parents, Raymond and Donna Delzell of Wayland; siblings: Nick (Jenn) Delzell of Ely, Benji Delzell of Tiffin, Krista (Chet) Fort of Mount Pleasant, and Jamie (Desiree) Delzell of Wayland; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Richard and Marge Simpson; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Delzell; and her former husband, R.J. Collins.
