Michaelina Basch, age 98, of Macomb, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025. Born on April 10, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan. Michaelina lived a full and vibrant life defined by resilience, warmth, and a deep love for family, travel, and connection. A proud graduate of Hazel Park High School's Class of 1945, Michaelina began her career with Trans World Airlines before moving on to Ford Motor Company, where she dedicated over 20 years of service. Her strong work ethic and no-nonsense spirit were hallmarks of her character, earning her the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Michaelina was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles "Chuck" Basch, her siblings Frank and Nicky, and her parents Ann and Frank. Together with Chuck, she enjoyed the snowbird life, spending winters in Deerfield Beach, Florida soaking in the sun and the company of friends. The two shared a love for travel and adventure, especially in their cherished Airstream trailer, exploring new places and making lifelong memories along the way.

She is survived by her loving son Steven (Gayle) Muir; her grandchildren Erin, Brian, and Jason; and her great-granddaughter Samantha, all of whom she loved greatly and spoke of with pride.

Michaelina was tough as nails, yet always carried herself with grace and a lady's charm. She had a gift for making friends wherever she went, her social nature and sharp wit leaving a lasting impression on all who met her. She lived a long life, well-lived and well-loved. Her legacy of strength, independence, and warmth will continue in the hearts of those who knew her. A burial will be held at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
