Michele Castiglione Obituary

Published by O'Connor Mortuary - Laguna Hills Chapel & Mortuary on Feb. 25, 2018.
Michele Ferrara was born in New York on November 27, 1952. She attended Bryant High School in Queens and remained life-long friends with her schoolmates. She married sweetheart Anthony Castiglione in 1971 and had her son Thomas Charles in 1975. Diagnosed with Scleroderma shortly after Thomas's birth, and in 1987, the family moved to California for the more healthful weather. Michele loved to volunteer her time, and spent time working with the Anaheim Police Department, The Red Hat Society, Cinema City Movie Theatre, and so many others. She loved to entertain, and was always the life of the party. After her granddaughter, Sydney Michele, was born, the whole family moved to Florida where Michele loved to babysit Sydney. The family moved back to CA just in time to welcome her grandson, Dylan Thomas. Michele could frequently be seen driving around in her convertible, loving on her dog, attending her grandchildren's performance events, spending time on Balboa Island, traveling to Hawaii, and spoiling her grandchildren. Michele took care of her husband Tony, just as her best friend, Claudio, took care of her. She could make friends with everyone, and usually did. She loved fiercely. She was always concerned with how others were doing, and signed off "have a blessed day." She is survived by her husband Anthony, her best friend Claudio, her sisters Nancy Emerson and Julie Ferrara, her son Thomas, her daughter-in-law Stacy, and her grandchildren Sydney Michele and Dylan Thomas.

Tony and Claudio, it's with heavy hearts we all mourn the loss of darling Michele - there are no words to describe how adorable she was - her feisty sense of humor, her upbeat positive attitude and her in-your-face, direct and honest way of communicating - these traits are so special and belonged to Michele! If you don't want the truth, don't ask Michele, that's all there was to that. In times of loss, my Dad used to quote the following to me - and I want to share it with you from my own broken heart:

The sun be warm and kind to you,
The darkest night, some star shine through,
The dullest morn, a radiance brew,
And when dusk comes, God's hand to you.

Love, Jaci Woods

Dear Cousin Michele,
I was heartbroken to hear of your passing. You have always been a very special person to me. I have such fond memories of you from when I was a child and I am thrilled that we reconnected again. Youre a beautiful, strong, kind, witty, loving and gracious soul. I guess God needed another angel. Rest in eternal peace with your Mom and Dad. Please give them both a hug from me. Also, give my brother Johnny, Mommy and my Dad a kiss from me. I love and miss all of you. RIP- GINA xoxo
