Michele Green Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caliman Funeral Services - Columbus on Jan. 14, 2026.
"A mother is the thread that stitches the fabric of a family together."

Michele "Mitchell" Laverne (Jefferson) Green was born on October 11, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Andrew and Evelyn Jefferson. She peacefully departed this life on January 3, 2026.

Michele attended the American School of Technology, where she trained as an STNA. She dedicated 28 years of service to the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DCSC) and later retired from Wilgrow after 21 additional years of committed work.

Guided by compassion and a deep faith in God, Michele developed a love for singing in the choir, enjoyed bowling, and devoted her time to various outreach ministries. She was a longtime member of the House of Refuge for All People under the leadership of Pastor Patrick Elias in Whitehall, Ohio. And of course, she adored her beloved grand-dog, Smokie - whom she lovingly nicknamed Bandit - bringing joy to the family in recent years.

Michele is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Evelyn Jefferson; siblings Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jefferson Jr., Charles Jefferson, and Evelyn Ann Forrest; nieces Robin Williams and Andrewlynn Jefferson; and nephew Robert Williams II.

She is survived by her sisters, Betty Williams and Helen Tatum; her children Albert (Kim) Jefferson, Kimberly (Jefferson) Mason, and Michael (Tanisha) Green; and her bonus daughter Tammy Travis. She leaves behind grandchildren Valencia (Manny) Miller, Aleksei Jefferson, Brandi Jefferson, Destiny Travis, and Timothy Travis; great-grandchildren Jasmine Alice Nicole Jefferson, Josiah Lewis Matthew Jefferson, and Jayden Evelyn Marie Jefferson; her special niece Trina Marie; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and bonus grandchildren.

Michele leaves behind beautiful memories that will never fade. Though she is no longer with us in body, she remains forever in our hearts. Her love, wisdom, laughter, understanding, and joy will continue to shape our lives.

Her kindness and radiant spirit will never be forgotten. After a courageous battle with illness, she took her Savior's hand on January 3, 2026, at the age of 77 - trusting fully in God's master plan.
