Michele M. Pankauski

WEST NEWBURY – Michele M. (Simonds) Pankauski, 75, of West Newbury, wife of the late Dr. Bruce V. Pankauski, passed away on Wednesday, August 21 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport.
Michele was born in Groveland on July 31, 1949 the daughter of Ralph C. and Agnes M. (Kennedy) Simonds. She was a graduate of Pentucket High School, Class of 1967. She received her nursing degree from Northern Essex Community College and after working at several hospitals went on to work as a school nurse for many years at Pentucket High School. Michele was a kind, caring and compassionate woman who was always well dressed. She was known for being a perfectionist who loved her family and sang in the church choir at St. Ann's in West Newbury. Michele loved cooking and spending the holidays and skiing with her family; and she was so happy to make having her beach house on Salisbury Beach a reality.
Michele is survived by her son Brett Pankauski and his wife Darlene of Atkinson, NH, brothers Michael Simonds and his wife Kathryn of Salisbury, and Peter Simonds and his wife Deb of Plaistow, NH, sisters Elizabeth "Betty" Gorski of South Groveland, Tricia Simonds of Andover, and Colleen Simonds of Haverhill. She also leaves behind one granddaughter, her pride and joy Hannah, and several nieces and nephews; and her very dear friends Martha and Terry.
She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Bruce V. Pankauski and her brothers Edward "Bobby" Simonds and Ralph "Buddy" Simonds, sisters in law Judy Simonds and Jean Simonds, and brother-in law Barry Gorski.
