Michell “Missy” Marie LaCour Rummel, 59, of Gretna, Louisiana, set off on her next great adventure, leaving behind a world that’s a little quieter without her laugh and her nonstop stories. She’s survived by her three children, Jillian Rummel LeBlanc and her wife Gabrielle LeBlanc, Brendan Morton and husband Ronny Morton and Mark McDaniel and wife Kali McDaniel, who inherited her wit, warmth, and ability to talk to anyone about anything. She also leaves behind her beloved mother and father, Jill & Jack Lohner; her father, Julius LaCour and step mother Cynthia LaCour; her sisters, Stacy Rene LaCour, Allison LaCour and Martha Ann Elliott; brothers Julius LaCour, Jack “Buddy” Lohner Jr. and Gerry Lohner and her four adoring grandchildren, Zayne, Zetta, Bodhi, and Gideon, who were her greatest joy and her favorite excuse to show off photos.
Missy believed in laughter, long chats in the morning, and something sweet before bed. She was a wonderful mother and best friend. Her warm and accepting spirit will forever leave a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pockets of Hope (a nonprofit, dedicated to empowering women recovering from Breast cancer surgeries, by providing them with specially designed zip up sweatshirts that feature sewn in pockets, offering comfort, practicality, and a reminder that they are not alone on their journey to recovery) in Missy’s name to honor her life, her strength, and her love for others.
