Michelle Diane James passed away January 19, 2023. She was born January 8, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan and later moved to Inkster where she received her formal education. She later moved to Seattle, Washington where she got married and to that union she had a son, Anthony Davis. She had various occupations.
Later she married Robert James and followed him in his ministries to Little Rock, Arkansas in 1982. She was instrumental in establishing Ladies Lectureship in Hot Springs Arkansas yearly. She was sought to speak at various ladies’ conferences around the country. Over the years she engaged in many classes, constantly furthering her knowledge and interests. She was also involved in New Futures for Little Rock. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ, even when her health started to fail.
Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, Gwendolyn and Marquis Woody, her son, Anthony Davis, her husband, Robert James and her sister, Robyn Woody.
She leaves to mourn two sisters, Gloria Kanda (James) of Los Angeles, California and Kathy Hawk of Westland, Michigan; two nephews, Harvey Noyd (Jewel) and Major Garnett Woody (Kimberly); one niece, Sherri Noyd; three grandchildren, Donte, Rashad and Toni Davis; loving great-grandchildren and a host of devoted friends.
Services will be held on 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Lewis Street Church of Christ. Family Hour will be Monday, January 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the church. Family Hour will be Monday, January 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
