Michelle S. McGough, 65, of McConnelsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
Michelle was born in Tremonton, Utah on April 12, 1960, the daughter of George and Mildred Skidmore.
She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life—reading, fishing, and shopping. She especially loved spending time on her deck, taking in the peaceful view of the river from her home. Michelle also liked playing scratch-off tickets and playing cards, especially euchre.
She was a proud member of the FOE Lodge #761 in Coshocton, where she worked for several years in the kitchen, and the Moose Lodge #2317 in McConnelsville. She also worked for many years with the Longaberger Company as a basket weaver and Buehlers Restaurant in Coshocton.
Michelle is survived by her “better half,” Frank D. Rutherford; her stepdaughter, Jennifer (Brian) Dilts; grandchildren, Destiny Dilts, Summer Dilts, and Breyawna Dilts; and great-grandchildren, Drake and Fiona. She is also survived by her two brothers, Ronald Skidmore and LaMoine (Pauline) Skidmore; sister-in-law, Sandy Rutherford; and her dear friend, Rosie Cornelius.
In addition to her parents, Michelle is preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Ranell Skidmore.
Visitation will be held 12 to 1 pm on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Farus Funeral Home, 383 Main Street, Duncan Falls. Funeral services will follow visitations at 1pm on Wednesday, with Pastor Darren Tolbert officiating. Michelle will be laid to rest in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
