Michelle Petit Obituary

Michelle L. "Mimi" Petit

Hooksett, NH - Michelle L. "Mimi" Petit, 62, of Hooksett, passed away peacefully after a period of declining health at the Hanover Hill Health Care Center in Manchester on Sunday, November 2, 2025. Mimi was born on July 16, 1963, in Manchester, NH, daughter of the late Albert and Yvonne L. (Thibeault) (St. Germain) Petit.

Mimi was raised and spent most of her life in Allenstown, before moving to Hooksett to live with her siblings. For many years, Mimi was a proud cafeteria staff member at New Hampshire College and a volunteer through The Moore Center – though she was equally excited to tell everyone she "retired" when that chapter of her life closed.

To know Mimi was to love Mimi. And it often seemed no one was more well known than she. When out in public with her family, she was regularly approached by old friends and acquaintances who were strangers to everyone but her. Countless people have heard her famous line, "I know you!," followed by her beaming smile and big hugs.

Mimi will be remembered for the joy she brought to everyone around her. She was the life of the party and could make a whole room laugh with her quick wit. In her prime, you couldn't pull Mimi from the dance floor. She never let a wedding go by without a request for "The Chicken Dance" and stole the show every time. On holidays, Mimi sent smiles around the dinner table with her signature way of saying grace – individually naming everyone seated to say she loved them. No one's love was more pure than Mimi's.

In addition to her parents, Mimi was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Lionel W. Martin, Jr. She is survived by her siblings, Maurice St. Germain and Ruth A. Martin, both of Hooksett; nieces and nephews, Lindsay Johnson and her husband, Matthew of Derry, Shannon Paquette and her husband, Gerid of Sutton and Joshua Martin and his wife, Jean of Windham; great nieces and nephews, Luke, Zara, Elias, Eve and Neil; and many extended family and friends.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10 School Street, Allenstown. A Committal Service will take place immediately following at St. John the Baptist Cemetery – NEW, River Road, Allenstown. So sorry for your loss of Michelle. I remember her when she would come to the Carpenter Center with the Moore Center group. She was a very sweet young lady. Thoughts and prayers for her family.
