Michelle Schatz

Michelle Schatz, 52, Bismarck, died on March 1, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family.

       Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Church of the Ascension in Bismarck with Rev. Marvin Klemmer officiating.  Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bismarck.

       Visitation will be Monday, March 3, from 1:00 - 9:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary service will be held at 6:30 PM.  Visitation will continue Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.

       Michelle was born on April 5, 1955, in Harvey, ND, the daughter of Louis and Veronica Schiele.  She was raised and attended school in Drake.  She married Bruce Schatz on March 9, 1974, in Drake.  They lived in Drake until Bruce got out of the military in 1977 and then moved to Bismarck where she worked as a daycare provider in her home for the last 30 years.

       Michelle enjoyed camping, bowling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and the countless number of kids she took care of at her daycare.  She has touched the lives of so many people and she will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her.

       She is survived by her husband, Bruce of Bismarck; her sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Tera of Salt Lake City, UT, Jamie and Cassie of Waco, TX, and Jordan and Sarah of Bismarck; her grandchildren, Bradley of Salt Lake City, and Mollie and Mikeltie of Waco; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Gange of Minot, Vernitta Lemar of Bismarck, Ida and Arnie Stebleton of Bismarck, and Kathy and Bill Vetsch of Anamoose; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen and Darlene and Bennie and Judy, all of Huron, SD, Daniel and Bonnie, Dennis and Jane, and Stella Schiele, all of Bismarck, Jerry and Bobbie of Steele, and Charles and Pam of Fairmont; and three special pets, Bingo, Tabby, and Buddy.

       She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ralph; and her son, Bradley.

       In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society.
