Michelle Kay "Shelly" Shepard-Duffey

Funeral services celebrating the life of Michelle Kay "Shelly" Shepard-Duffey, 66, of Reynoldsburg, will be held at Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 1 P.M. Monday, February 16, 2026, with Fr. Mike Gentry as celebrant. Calling will be held from 11-1 P.M., prior to the service. Interment will be held in Fairmount Cemetery.

Shelly passed away at Mount Carmel East Hospital on Sunday, February 8, 2026. She was born in Newark, Ohio on May 26, 1959, to the late William J. and Rita (Webb) Shepard.

A 1977 graduate of Lakewood School, Shelly worked as a Radiology Technician prior to her retirement.

Shelly, always ready for an adventure, enjoyed reading, cooking, and traveling. She adored her family and greatly cherished the many times they spent together and the countless laughs shared.

She is survived by her son, Jeremy (Tricia) Duffey; siblings, Amy (Duane) McCartney, Jodi (Rodney) Dwyer, Laura Hartum, David (Tammy) Hartrum, Wendi (Glenn) Crawford, and Jacki Shepard; several stepbrothers and step sisters; aunt, Kay Little; cousin, Judy Kavanaugh; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shelly was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard "Jerry" Duffey; brother, Michael (Janis) Shepard; and niece Ashley Dwyer.
