Michelle Warner Obituary

Michelle Rae Warner, 70, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on January 5, 2026. Her loving husband and daughter were with her at the time of her passing. Michelle was born on August 12, 1955, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was adopted by Rex Knothe and Betty Knothe and grew up alongside her brother, Jim Knothe, in the sweet town of Ogallala, Nebraska. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Warner, and her two children, August Schoeneman and Katy Warner. A true creative, Michelle was a drum and art major at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and went on to perform with the Kansas City Civic Orchestra. She also dabbled in interior decorating, bringing music, color, and impeccable taste everywhere she went. Michelle was truly a jack of all trades. While raising two children, she became a paramedic and later worked as an EMT with the fire department in Gering, Nebraska. She was well known for her love of cooking and travel, with Italian food being her greatest comfort and Ireland her favorite destination. Michelle requested that there be no funeral or memorial, as she was a very private person. Flowers or cards may be sent to her husband at 403 N. River Blvd, Independence, MO 64050.

We are so sorry to hear this very sad news. We both truly enjoyed getting to know Michelle during our mutual employment at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE. She was such a bright light with a joyful, loving soul and an unforgettable smile. May Jeff, her children, extended family and friends find comfort and peace in the special memories of a dear soul, Michelle.
