Michelyn Christine Brown

Michelyn Christine Brown, 49, of Alpena passed away, Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.

Michelyn Christine Petersen was born in Grand Rapids on February 26, 1977, to Bernard and Elizabeth (Fahner) Petersen. She has worked as a physical therapist for many years, first at MyMichigan Medical Center – Alpena and most recently at the Lt Col. Clement C. Van Wagoner VA Clinic in Alpena, which she was most proud of serving our country by helping our veterans.

On Dec. 13, 2014, she married Ryan Brown. She has been an active member of All Saints Parish, serving with the women's groups, youth groups, Light of the World retreats, Bible studies, and several other activities throughout the church. Michelyn was truly warm and welcoming to all the lives she touched, shown through the support of her friends and family in her final weeks of life; the same people she had given so much to. She will be greatly missed by her church family.

Surviving are her husband, Ryan; her parents, Bernand and Elizabeth Petersen; brother, Joshua (Carrie) Petersen; niece, Harper Petersen; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 2-8 p.m. with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, March 9, 2026, at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Aloysius Okpala officiating.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
