Mickeal Dean Strickland, 72 formerly of Erick, Oklahoma was born on November 27, 1952, in Sayre, Oklahoma to Melvin Graham and Clara Mae (Smith) Strickland. Mike joined Jesus on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
Mickeal, married Cara Berry, and they had three children, Carmikeal, Terri and Sherri. He later remarried and two more children joined our family Joshua and Brooke.
He loved many things in his life; he loved to fish. He even raised a pond full of catfish for his mother and girls to specially fish on! He loved fast cars and music such as Steppenwolf and Traveling Wilburys and Dolly, and Tea!
Dad also loved his cold beer and cigs. He loved being on the farm and always talked about going back! He loved spending time on the farm raising pigs and chickens, having small gardens and just loving country life.
Mike was raised in Erick and lived there most of his life on his farm southwest of town where he raised beefmaster cattle which he was so proud of.
He had many friends and would help anyone in need of he could. We were able to talk to some of his close friends over the last few weeks, he had so many stories!
Dad, loved his children, loved his Momma and his strawberry malts.
His life changed at the age of 50 however he still was the Daddy we all knew. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Erick. We pray for peace, guidance in this sad time, and I can see my Daddy was so happy to see his Momma in heaven!
Mike was a believer in Christ, and he knew that the Lord was ready for him at the gates of heaven! He would always say, the Lord is our savior!
Please keep our family in your prayer as we get through the next couple of days.
Mike had a deep personal relationship with God; he was an honest man and would lend a helpful hand to anyone in need. Mike treasured spending time with his family and friends, he will be deeply missed and greatly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Erick Cemetery, Erick, Oklahoma. Rev. Charlie Floyd will officiate. Interment will be at Erick Cemetery, Erick, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Cherishing his memory are his loving daughters, Carmikeal Hoffman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Terri Streeter and Sherri Strickland both of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Brooke Murphy and her husband, Anthony of Elk City, Oklahoma; one son, Joshua Strickland and his wife, River of Elk City, Oklahoma; one sister, Meldeen Strickland of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, DeAarron Lynn, Staten, Julia, Linkin, Dax, Asher and Proctor Graham.
