How could I forget the young man who drove up to my house in Jonesboro and asked if I liked watermelon? Following an enthusiastic of course, opened the trunk to a lot of "special " watermelons.

Seems in Arkansas they had to be secreted away from someone´s field in the dead of night to be the best "special" melons. Another humor filled lesson for this California city dweller by one of my husbands amazing students .

So many more fine warm memories including taking my young sons under your wing to share the finer points of the most sacred of all sports... baseball!

Thanks for these and so many more. I am forever proud of all you achieved including a wonderful marriage and raising such a fine family. I will miss you.

Sandy Wallin.

Hey, Mickey Mouse-my younger brother and I used to chide you with this as little kids when you´d come to our house in Jonesboro. I still have your old Rawlings baseball glove you used when you played shortstop back a lifetime ago. It is something I cherish still. You have always held a special place in both my memories and heart simply from the kindness you showed a scruffy little kid. My deepest condolences to your vast family, Mickey, as you journey forth into the unknown. May it be a font of knowledge for you to continue your learning.
