Mieczyslaw Dabrowski, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday at Cordia Senior Living in Westmont, Illinois. He was born on January 19, 1933, in France to Adam and Zofia.
In 1961, he married Jozefa Gebczynska in Poland. Four years later, in 1965, he immigrated to Chicago with Jozefa and their children, Eugene and Stella. They later welcomed two more children, Casey and Anna, born in Chicago. He worked for many years as a skilled mechanic and repairman, known for his dedication and craftsmanship.
In retirement, he enjoyed spending time in Michigan, where he took great pride in cultivating an orchard of apple, cherry, peach, pear, and plum trees. To support his crops, he became an avid beekeeper, maintaining up to ten active hives. He also raised chickens and found joy in being outdoors, immersed in nature.
He loved traveling to visit family and friends, and deeply valued time spent socializing and staying connected with loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jozefa, and their children: Eugene, Stella, Casey, and Anna.
His final resting place will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
