Migdalis Colon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Puerta Del Cielo Funeral Home on Dec. 4, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we announce the departure of our beloved Migdalis Miranda Colon into eternal life on November 30th, 2025. Born to Leslie Colon and the late Jose David Miranda in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on May 31st, 2000, Migdalis was a beacon of light that radiated joy and warmth to all who knew her. She was a dedicated, loving, and witty woman, always ready with a funny joke or a warm hug to lift the spirits of those around her. Migdalis moved to Springfield, Massachusetts, where she enriched the lives of those in her community through her work as a Para Professional for the Compass High Program.

Migdalis was a determined and ambitious woman who never backed down from a challenge. She was proud to have graduated from Putnam High School and later AIC College, where she received her associate's degree in teaching. Her vivacious personality and radiant smile could light up a room, her laughter was infectious, and her energetic spirit was truly captivating.

Migdalis was a loving mother to her precious daughter, Leylis Hardy, who was born on January 12th, 2020. Leylis was the light of Migdalis's life, and the bond they shared was a beautiful testament to Migdalis's loving nature. She took great joy in sharing her love for music and humor with Leylis, creating a home filled with laughter, love, and song.

As a Pentecostal believer, Migdalis lived her life guided by her faith. She embodied the verse from Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." This verse speaks to her resilience, dedication, and the unwavering spirit that defined her. She was a shining example of strength, courage, and love to her family and friends, and her memory will live on in their hearts forever.

Migdalis is survived by her mother Leslie Colon, her daughter Leylis Hardy, her brother Yosmal Perez, her grandmother Migdalia Colon, her uncle Santiago Colon, Leylis's father Donovan Hardy, and a host of aunts, uncles, and friends. She is predeceased by her father, Jose David Miranda, and her grandfather, Santiago Colon Espinoza.

The memorial service for Migdalis Miranda Colon will be held on Friday, December 12th, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. at the Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, located at 730 State Street, Springfield, Massachusetts.

We invite everyone who has been touched by Migdalis's vibrant spirit to celebrate her life by sharing their memories and photos on her memorial page. Her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us, and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.

Migs had such a beautiful ability to care for those around her, regardless of who it was. She was selfless and put the needs of others first without pretense, and was unwaveringly patient and dedicated to working with our most difficult students. We are all so blessed to have known her as a dear friend, and so fortunate to have been impacted by her. When you knew her closely, you felt how her presence inspired confidence and joy. She shared witty, counter-cultural takes on life, and was always willing to stand up to an authority if she felt someone was unfairly treated. Migdalis left a powerful, overwhelmingly positive impact on us, and she will be close to our hearts indefinitely.
