Miguel Cerna Jr, 77, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away March 6, 2024 at his home in Orange Grove, Texas. He was born February 11, 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Miguel Cerna Sr. and Juanita (Hernandez) Cerna. Miguel (Mickey) was known as "THE CALF MAN." He sold baby calves to ranchers all over the Texas surrounding areas. He loved his mother and family with all of his heart. Since his mother went home to be with God 4/24/2017 he was never the same. We know he is rejoicing in Heaven with his mother and all of his siblings that have been taken home too soon. He was also known to make the most amazing salsa! He will be greatly missed. Miguel (Mickey) is preceded in death by his parents Miguel and Juanita H. Cerna, one son Miguel Cerna III, four sisters, Teresa Mendez, Louisa Rodriguez, Sara Nieto, and Connie Rodriguez; three brothers, Edward Cerna, John Cerna, and Jessy (Cochise) Cerna. Left to cherish his memory is his only sibling left out of 9 brothers and sisters, Jane Cerna Capistran (Lee Capistran) of Corpus Christi, TX and one granddaughter Celeste Cerna of Bakersfield California. Mickey is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, one uncle, and many friends.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, March 22, 2023 from 2PM to 4PM with a prayer service to begin at 3PM in the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
