One of the greatest love stories ever produced! An outstanding, world class performance; a movie with a storyline ahead of its time!!! I have viewed it more times than I can remember, and still it gives me goosebumps...

When I first saw "Sayonara" in 1973 in Singapore, I immediately adore Miiko Taka. I repeated watched the show 3 times in a row. Those days we did not have social media so I got no news and whereabouts of Miiko Taka. As internet came into existence, I found more about her and her whereabouts. I missed her and saddened by the news of her demise. She will live in my heart forever as she always has.

I absolutely adored her she was such a lovely actress. So perfectly cast in sayonara. Such a beautiful gentle soul. She will never be forgotten. Rest in peace lovely woman

How sad I was to learn of Miiko Taka's passing. I watched Sayonara with my father as a teenager and was captivated by her talent and beauty. Sayonara remains one of my favorite movies. Condolences to her family, friends, and all who loved her.

I watched this Movie with my Mother as a child. Today l saw it again. Such a beautiful elegant actress.RIP

In a coincidence this afternoon I was reading Truman Capote's portrait of Marlon Brando as he was esconced in Kyoto's luxurious Miyako Hotel - contracted to be the leading man in Josh Logan's film Sayonara. Capote recounts the discovery of Miiko Taka an unknown, first-time actor in LA, who was selected to play the part turned down by the director and producer's first choice, Audrey Hepburn!

This lady made an impression on me in Sayonara years ago. She was such a a beautiful and gentle soul. May she rest in peace and condolences to her family.

Miiko was grace incarnate. Her partner, Reggie Hsu, was my mentor and both of them embodied everything wonderful. My and my family's gift to know them.

I remember in 1957 my mom took me to see her films.
She inspired me to discover Asian cultures.
I really loved her!

I just found out that Miiko passed away in Jan. I´m watching Sayonara now for the 100th time. My favorite movie ever.

As a young boy of 12 I fell in love with you and the movie "Sayonara". You were so captivating to me. I will still watch it every time it comes on cable. "Sayonara Hanna Oggi"
