Mike Laurenz, a cherished member of the Louisville community, passed away on November 14, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on November 1, 1964, in Louisville, Kentucky, Mike's life was characterized by his hard work and his deep devotion to family and friends.
Mike dedicated over 30 years of his life as a contractor for Zip Express, demonstrating his unwavering commitment and impressive skills in his field. He was not just a hard worker; he was known for his kind-hearted nature and quiet demeanor, always thinking of the needs of others before his own. This generous spirit extended into every aspect of his life, where he always put others first, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
An 1985 graduate of Iroquois High School. He enjoyed various hobbies, with a particular passion for sports. A proud supporter of the University of Louisville, he watched games with passion and enthusiasm, sharing his love for the team with friends and family alike.
Family was everything to Mike. He is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Ludlow, and is remembered by his brothers Joey (Kathy) Laurenz and Greg (Sheila) Laurenz. His role as an uncle brought him immense joy; he is survived by his nephews Brian (Sara) Smith, Brandon (Bethany) Laurenz, and Mark Klein, as well as his nieces Amy (Gerren) Jackson, Kelly Laurenz, and Tiffany (Joshua) Laurenz, cousin, Lisa (Jeff) Rice, who remembers him fondly as a beloved family member who brightened their lives with his gentle spirit. He is preceded in death by his dad, Adam Ludlow (Pops), who he admired deeply.
The visitation service for Mike Laurenz will be held on Monday, November 24th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Southwest Louisville, KY 40272.
As we remember Mike Laurenz, let us reflect on the love he shared, the kindness he exuded, and the warmth he brought to everyone he met. His legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
