Mike O'Neal

Mr. Michael Fowler "Mike" O'Neal, 70, of Hermanville, a long-time resident of the Sweatman Community of Montgomery County, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025, at his residence. He worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg his entire working life, first as a hand on the mat sinking unit all up and down the Miss River, then 30+ years in the office as a clerk. Mike's many hobbies include reading, photography, fishing, trapping and tanning hides, rope making, gardening, motorcycles, muscle cars & darts and billiards.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 7, 2025 at the Red Hill Church of Christ with Bro. Ken Salley officiating.
Survivors include a daughter, Rena Lara of Vicksburg; son, Harley Layfield O'Neal of Delta, LA; brother, Ralph Murray O'Neal of Cagayan de Oro, Philippines; and four grandchildren, Jayce O'Neal, Dani O'Neal, Wanda O'Neal and Kaleb O'Neal.
He is preceded in death by his parents Billy Rowell O'Neal and Wanda Fowler O'Neal Berry.
Memorials may be directed to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
