I´m sorry to hear of Mikes passing he was a very good and well liked teacher at SCHS when I knew him.( Class of 1986) I also had the pleasure of being taught by his wife "Susie"in 79-80 at MWMS she was also a great teacher. She had a large poster of Tom Seaver and would talk to us about the Reds often. Mike taught us US history and made it fun while still teaching us. He was almost always upbeat and happy and seemed to really like teaching and seeing people learn. I still remember our end of semester test it was 100 questions and was split between 2 days and if you got 100% on the first half you could skip the second half. I was one of four students to do that and he thanked us for making him feel useful as a teacher. He was also a very snappy dresser with the sweaters and blazers and plaid pants that were popular then he did stand out. Again Mrs Oder sorry for your loss. Gene Norton

I was lucky enough to have Mike be my head coach my sr year at Spencer Co. He then allowed be to be one of his assistants the year we won the district. He and Susie treated me so well they even took to calling me their son during this time. One of life´s regrets is to lose touch with such special people as life guides you down different paths. Mike was one of the those people that left others better for knowing him. All my love and best wishes go out to Susie, Alex and all his family over this great loss.

We are so so sorry to hear about Mike´s passing. Such fond memories we have of him helping us on the farm when he was in high school along with his buddies! Remember how he loved those big meals we would have at lunch time! Our sympathy to Susie and the family.

Coach "O" was my coach when I was in 8th grade.. 1978...first year of me playing girls basketball ball..he gave me the nickname of "Bruiser", it has stuck with me all my life. He was a such a great guy and coach. I feel we were all fortunate to know him. My thoughts and prayers to all the family. He will be truly missed.

Mike was a great man! He made my experience in high school basketball a great experience! He took care of me! Not having much money at the time he always made sure I was fed after a game and had shoes for the game! I loved him as a coach and a friend!! He will be missed! I think that I speak for everyone that played under Mike that we love you Mike!!
