Douglas Michael "Mike" Whitlock, 35, beloved husband, son, brother and father, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in Dallas, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 P.M., on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Wiley Funeral Home chapel, 400 Highway 377 East, in Granbury. Funeral services celebrating Mike's life will be held at 10 A.M., on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the Tolar Stonewater Church. Burial will be private.
Mike was born on October 11, 1989, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Wendell & Renae Whitlock. He married Lindsey Miller on September 2, 2012. Mike was a person of deep Christian faith and attended Tolar Stonewater Church. He had a deep love for the outdoors and a lifelong fascination with the weather. He found joy in traveling, especially on spontaneous adventures, and treasured simple moments like tossing a ball with his son. An avid fisherman and experienced catfish guide, he found peace on the water and fulfillment in sharing that passion with others.
He was a kind and generous soul who never met a stranger and was always quick to offer a helping hand. To his wife, he was her greatest supporter, her rock, and her soft place to land. He was a devoted and loving father-he adored his son and loved the step children as his own, always present with encouragement, laughter, and unconditional love. His heart was immense-he loved his family fiercely, provided for them without hesitation, and never missed a chance to spoil them with love.
He quickly became a beloved part of his wife's family, building strong bonds with his in-laws, who loved and cherished him deeply. His presence brought warmth and connection, and he was embraced not just as a son-in-law, but as one of their own.
A beloved brother and a devoted son himself, not only a son but a best friend to his dad, a strong bond filled with love and devotion to his mom, he held deep respect and affection for his siblings, parents and grandparents. He was a friend to all, a steady presence, and someone whose warmth, humor, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mike is survived by his wife, Lindsey; his children, Kayson Whitlock, Abigail Jones, Daylon French & Aubrey French; his parents, Wendell & Renae Whitlock; siblings, Natalia Keenan and husband Kevin Keenan, Adam Whitlock and wife Monica Whitlock; his in-laws, Terry & Janet Miller; brother-in-law, Brant Miller; and by his paternal grandfather, Thomas Whitlock.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, JoAnn Whitlock and Frank & Carol Dorries.
