Mildred Baxter, 90 died February 12, 2025, in Clay Center, KS. She was born on July 23, 1935, in Ottawa County, KS, the daughter of Clarence and Nina (Beals) Chambers. Mildred was raised in Ottawa County, Kansas in the Lamar and Delphos communities. She married Roy Baxter on July 6, 1954, and made their home in Clay Center. Mildred worked as a clerk at Duckwalls and worked as a school janitor. Mildred and Roy served as Cub Scout leaders for many years. Roy preceded her in death on March 4, 2017. Mildred was a member of the Clay Center Wesleyan Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Son: Virgil Baxter of Bartlesville, OK
Daughter: Renay and husband Brian Anderson of Clay Center, KS
Son: Victor Baxter of Clay Center, KS
12 Grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren and 2 Great-great-grandchildren
Funeral Services: 10:30AM Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Clay Center Wesleyan Church in Clay Center, KS
Minister: Rev. Seth McGregor
Inurnment: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas
Visitation: 3-6 PM Friday, February 20, 2026, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home
