Mildred Biser Obituary

Mildred "Millie" Lucille (Toms) Biser, 90, of Thurmont, MD, is now at home with the Lord, having entered His Glory on February 16, 2025. Born March 16, 1934, she was the daughter of Donald C. Toms and Rosella E. (Stackhouse) Toms. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Herbert "Herb" Hoover Biser. He was the love of her life. Millie enjoyed playing golf alongside her husband, accumulating many trophies and accolades in the Frederick area. She worked with her husband to manage Biser Painting Company for 30 years and Biser Apartments for 42 years. Loyal to her savior Jesus Christ, Millie attended Friends Creek Church of God for over 55 years. She served 29 years as a Sunday School teacher, while also holding posts as secretary and treasurer through the years. Blessed with a compassionate heart, Millie devoted time to volunteer for March of Dimes and the Mental Health Association. She frequently visited troubled teens at the Victor Cullen Center-supporting them by listening and letting them know they were not alone. She is survived by her children; Paul Biser and wife, Jana; Millicent "Cindy" Biser and husband, Craig; Nancy Weishaar, and Shelly Dial. Also surviving are ten Grandchildren; Natalie Sockman, Jennifer Hill, Lee Cutchall, Amy King, Ian Lewis, Vincent Weishaar, Dylan King, Sarah and Samantha Biser, and Daniel Willumsen; and six Great Grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Sockman, Genevieve Hill, Carly and Lucas Lewis, and Kaiden Spencer. Millie is also survived by many beloved brothers and sisters in the church, among them her special friends Mary Lou and John Wetzel. Millie was preceded in death by her parents and one Sister, Mary Catherine Toms; three Children, Sharon Kathryn King, Sonya Sue Biser and Lisa Gwen Biser; and one Grandchild, Constance Biser. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 1 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD 21783 with Pastor Nancy Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Germantown Church of God, Bethel Cemetery, Cascade, MD. Family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Friends Creek Church of God C/O Mary Lou Wetzel, P.O. Box 63, Rouzerville, PA 17250. Arrangements were made with J.L. Davis Funeral home, Smithsburg, MD, and online condolences can be offered at www.jldavisfh.com. Mildred "Millie" Biser

I´m so sorry to the entire Biser family of your loss. I hold the Biser family close to my heart as they let me live in their home while I was a struggling teen in the 70´s. I will never forget the love they showed me and the love they shared with friends and the community. Truly and inspirational family. I miss them all and especially Miss Millie
