Mildred Eleanor Asp, age 94, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025 at VitaCare Living in Hayward, WI. She was born on January 19, 1931 in Gull Lake Township, WI, the daughter of Elmer Paul and Mary Allie (Kately) Asp.
Mildred attended Hillside (Smith Lake) School and later the Munger School. She graduated from Hayward High School and attended one year of classes at Miltonvale Wesleyan College. After high school, Mildred worked babysitting and other odd jobs including stenographer. After college, she was an aid at the "Annex", a nursing home attached to the Clay County Hospital in Clay Center, KS. Mildred moved to Woodstock, IL, in 1963 where she worked at a Children's Home as a secretary. She continued to work at the facility after it turned into a nursing home. Mildred moved back to Hayward in 2012 where he resided at VitaCare Assisted Living. She was a lifelong member of the Wesleyan Church, where she was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher.
She is survived by her brother, Duane L. Asp; her sister-in-law, Kathryne Asp; his nieces, Marian (Micky) Mays, Kimberly (Asp) Fry, Shelly (Heimerich) Otto, Pam (Heimerich) Farr, Elizabeth (Wallace) Moore; her nephews, Kenneth Wallace and Duane Heimerich.
In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Asp and Helen (Asp) Heimerich; her brothers, Gilbert Asp, Wendell Asp, Orville Asp, Theodore Asp, Irvin Asp; Roger Asp and Leonard Asp.
A private entombment was held in McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock, IL.
