Mildred Garcia (Delgado), age 88, went home to be with the Lord on November 18, 2025. Mildred was born on July 23, 1937, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and grew up in Martineztown, where her formative memories strengthened her love for the community. Mildred’s life was characterized by her deep faith and unwavering love for her family and close friends.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and matriarch, Mildred was the heart of her family. She is survived by her loving husband of over 62 years, Ruben Garcia, and their children: Elizabeth, Ruben Jr., Lucia, Esther, and Doreen; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren whom she cherished dearly.
She was preceded in death by loved ones whose memories stayed close to her heart throughout her life, and supported by family members Simon, Nancy, Barbara, and Deanie.
Mildred was a constant source of strength and a guiding light whose love brought everyone together. She was the steady heartbeat of her family, whose presence brought warmth and unity and was the essence of home. Her passing leaves a deep void in many hearts. Yet, even in grief, there is comfort in knowing that Mildred’s spirit remains reflected in the traditional values she upheld. Her legacy lives through the stories she told and retold, the mariachi music she loved, her lively humor, and the countless lives she touched with her caring nature. Though Mildred has left this world, her spirit is etched in the memories and hearts of those who loved her, ensuring she will never be forgotten.
