Mildred Patricia Hudson, affectionately known as Millie, passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 17, 1929, in Dayton, Ohio, Millie illuminated the lives of all who knew her with her warm and outgoing personality.
As a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother, Millie dedicated her life to nurturing her family. She graduated from Wilbur Wright High School, where her friendly spirit began to shine. Her proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her family, which flourished under her loving care. Millie is survived by her beloved daughter, Jeanne Hudson, and her cherished bonus daughter, Shelly Simpkins. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that touches the hearts of many family members and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
Millie had a passion for entertaining, and her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and delicious food. She loved to gather friends and family, creating beautiful memories that will be forever cherished. Additionally, she found joy in the serenity of gardening, where she nurtured not just flowers but also her connections with nature.
Millie's parents, Russell and Anna Mae Proctor, along with her husband, James, daughter, Deborah Hudson, and sister, Evelyn Keeney, welcomed her with open arms into eternal peace. Though they are no longer with us, the love and lessons they shared live on in the hearts of those who remain.
As we remember Millie's spirit, we honor her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
Family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospice of Dayton, who helped guide Millie through her peaceful transition into eternal life.
A service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025 at David's Community Mausoleum and Gathering Room, 4600 Mad River Road. Friends and family will gathering for 30 minutes prior to the start of service.
