Mildred Jeff Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Walker Funeral Home - Butler County on Dec. 25, 2025.
Mildred Nival Jeff, known affectionately as "Millie", entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 20, 2025. She was the devoted daughter of the late Heriberto Nival and Laura Monserrate Lopez Nival of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Of proud Puerto Rican descent, Millie lived a life rich in culture, creativity, and a deep love for family. She also held a fond admiration for African culture which influenced her worldview and artistic expression.

In her younger years, she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City where she cultivated her lifelong passion for the Arts. She was a phenomenal visual artist, widely admired for her expressive clay sculptures and paintings. In her later years, she expanded her creative journey as a jazz singer; sharing her voice, soul, and storytelling with the same authenticity that defined her artwork. Finally, she was admired for her beautiful sense of style and glam, and always impeccably dressed.

Millie's faith journey was deeply personal. She maintained a strong spiritual connection to Christ, guided by love, compassion, and an enduring belief in grace. Her spirituality was reflected in the way she lived, through the love, care, and generosity that she extended to others, especially to her grandchildren.

Millie deeply held a special passion for Christmas. She didn't just celebrate the day, she carried its message of family, joy, and nostalgia, throughout the entire holiday season. While the lights may feel a little dimmer this year, there is a beautiful and lasting comfort in knowing that she passed during the time of year that she loved the most.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the late Waldo B. Jeff; five sisters: Judith Nival, Auria Luz Nival Irizarry, Casilda Nival, Dianna Nival Damani, and Joan Nival; five brothers: Gualberto Nival, Pedro Jaime Nival, Miguel Angelo Nival, Jose Antonio Nival, and Heriberto Nival, Jr.; and her beloved grandsons, Cameron Xavier Jeff and Bryce Caden Jeff.

Mildred leaves to mourn her passing, four children: Rita Negron, Laura Fuller, Jolaina Jeff-Cartier (Mose) and Carlos Jeff, Sr.; two sisters: Carmen Socorro Nival Taronji and Virginia Nival Moreno; 14 grandchildren: Maria Cooper, Michael Fuller, Patrick Cartier, Joelle Cartier, Mason Hall, Noelle Hall, Donovan Hall, Alexis Cartier, Aaliyah Jeff, Benjamin Jabril Cartier, Cayla Jeff, Carlos Jeff, Jr., Bria Jeff, and Samia Skyers; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Revelation 21:4: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 29, 2025, at Church of the Resurrection, 1619 California Ave., Cincinnati 45237.
