Mildred H Marx

Mildred Virginia Haring "Milly" Marx, 95, died peacefully on Feb. 13. Born and raised in Norristown, Pennsylvania, alongside her five older brothers, she attended Norristown High School and Wesley Junior College before marrying her high school sweetheart, Henry "Hank" Marx. In the years that followed, they would travel across the world for Hank's work, living in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Geneva, Switzerland, and welcomed four children, Stephanie, Jeff, Erika and Kurt. After Hank's death, Milly and the kids settled in Potomac, Maryland, where they formed a chosen family of friends and neighbors. Upon retiring from her job at St. Raphael Church in Rockville, Maryland, she continued traveling, often with her family and her longtime companion, Jack Perry. Honolulu and San Francisco were among her favorite destinations. Milly and Jack left the hustle of the D.C. suburbs for the quiet of the Eastern Shore in 2004 and became part of the community they found at the Parke at Ocean Pines. In her final years, Milly resided at the Woodlands, where she enjoyed watching staff and residents come and go and many sweet treats. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends throughout the world will remember her toughness, her kindness and her dry sense of humor. Plans for a celebration of life will be shared at a later date.
