Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 5, 2025.
Mildred F. Medernach, 94 of Bethlehem passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Muhlenberg Hospital. Born in Lehighton, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Mildred F. (Kuhns) Medernach. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Allentown and served as an Extraordinary Minister for years.

Mildred graduated from Allentown Central Catholic and attended one year of Moravian Women's seminary. She worked a few years at Koch Brothers Men's Clothing store, then moved to New York City. She loved New York and lived in the city for 10 years, employed at AT&T Bell. During her stint in New York she moved to San Francisco, CA for a year with a friend before returning to her old position. She returned to Allentown when her father was diagnosed with cancer, working in the family business of John Medernach & Company.

Mildred was avid reader, with an extensive book collection, world traveler, and lover of classical music. She traveled across the US, to Russia, France, England, Ireland, and South Africa. She had a deep intellectual curiosity and loved history, especially Russian history. She loved learning and sharing her knowledge with others, especially with her nieces and nephews.

Surviving are brothers: John and his wife, Nancy, of New Mexico, Joseph of Allentown, sister, Catherine, of Bethlehem, eight nieces, seven nephews, and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters Patricia Beidler and Lucille Pena.
