WEST HARTFORD- We take heart in rejoicing in the eternal transition for our beloved, Mildred “Milly” Roberts, age 84, of West Hartford, as she transitioned to her peaceful resting place on December 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Mildred Roberts was born in 1941 in Charleston, South Carolina where she lived until the age of 20 years old until, she relocated to Brooklyn, NY. In 1975, Mildred moved to Queens, NY to raise her growing family. She lived in Queens until 2007, when she retired from the State of New York, where she was a cook for a group home that housed and served people with disabilities. Mildred was a beloved community member at West Hartford fellowship housing where she lived for 15 years. Mildred loved to cook, feed people, and spend time with family and friends. When Mildred “Milly” smiled, she smiled from her soul .
Mildred is predeceased by her Grandparents; Rufus and Sarah Chisolm, her Mother, Mary Davis, Son, Tommie Roberts, daughter, Miriam. Roberts, and Brother-in-law, Johnnie Walker. Mildred Roberts is survived by Sister Evelyn Williams and brother-in-law Roy Williams, and Sister Loretta Walker, and Barbara Brown. She is also survived by 3 Brothers Ronald Chisolm, John Brown, and Teodoro Velazquez Jr and Sister-in-law Barbara Velazquez. Mildred is also survived by her beloved daughters, Mary Topa and Vondress Tolbert. Grandchildren Renata Roye, Tyquan Roberts, Naurice Josephs, and Jordan Young. She also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren to carry on her legacy and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousin whom all loved her dearly.
May she rest in peace, forever remembered in the hearts of those that were blessed to know and love her.
Memorial services for Ms. Mildred Roberts will be announced at a later date. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
