Mildred "Millie" Smith, 83, of Philpot, KY, went to be with the Lord January 16, 2026, at the Heartford House while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born January 6, 1943, in Daviess County to the late Ben and Elizabeth Cook. She was a member at The New Panther Creek Baptist Church in Whitesville, KY. She loved decorating the church for special occasions and she loved meeting people. Millie loved spending time with her family. She also loved going out west with her husband Jerry. She loved her family and she loved her Lord!

She was preceded in death by her late husband Carroll "Buster" Renfrow and a son, Bill Renfrow. She was also preceded by her siblings: Walter Cook, Betty Bratton, Ike Cook, John Cook, Charles Cook, Harrison Cook, Clayton Cook, and a step brother, Frank Cook.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Smith, a son, Owen (Renee) Renfrow, of Utica, a daughter, Alicia (Jeff) Whittaker of Utica; three step-children, Josua (Daniellia) Smith, of Owensboro, Catherine (Ricky) Dowdy of Philpot, Andrea (Dan)Nease of Montana; three grandchildren, Brandon (Sarah) Miles, of Bowling Green, Curtis(Ariel) Renfrow, of Owensboro, Traci Renfrow, Janna and Jesika and the late Rusty Whittaker of Hartford, KY; four great-grandchildren; seventeen great-step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at New Panther Creek Baptist Church with burial following at Bells Run Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, KY.
