In Loving Memory of Miles E. Cullom, Sr. June 13, 1940 – August 19, 2025
Miles E. Cullom, Sr., affectionately known as "Mr. C" or simply "C," passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025. He was 85 years old. Miles was born on June 13, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Ned E. Cullom and Dolly May (Liming) Cullom. As a young child, he moved with his family to Lake Worth, Florida, where he attended school and formed the foundations of a life marked by adventure, hard work, and faith. After high school, Miles relocated to Lebanon, Ohio, where he met and married, Jeannine Armitage. They were married on July 30, 1960, and began a lifelong journey together. They welcomed their only child, Miles E. Cullom, Jr. (Budd), on February 15, 1964. Following brief stays in Bristol, Tennessee, and a return to Lake Worth, Miles and his family settled in Knoxville, Tennessee in early 1974, where they would spend more than five decades building a life rooted in faith, friendship, and family. Miles built a successful career in the ready-mix concrete business and heavy truck sales, a path that included co-owning his own company, Mecon, in Knoxville with his brother Ronald "Ronnie" Cullom. He later worked with Loven Ready-Mix in Greeneville, Tennessee, alongside close friends Joe and Jimmy Loven. In the final chapter of his professional life, Miles worked with his son at Cullom Properties Inc. A true adventurer, Miles's life was filled with remarkable stories. Among the most legendary was his participation in the 1988 Trans-Amazon Rally, a 9,000-mile journey through the Amazon River Valley and Andes Mountains, undertaken with his close friend Jimmy Loven in a custom Ford diesel pickup. He also ferried concrete mixer trucks from Alaska to Knoxville-a testament to his fearless spirit and passion for trucks. Miles was raised in the Church of Christ and remained a devoted member throughout his life. He and Jeannie were active in several congregations, including Farragut Church of Christ, Maryville Church of Christ, and Lake Placid Church of Christ in Florida. He loved traveling across the country with Jeannie in their RV camper, spending peaceful winters in Lake Placid, Florida, and countless summers boating on Fort Loudon Lake. His barn was a sanctuary filled with an impressive collection of tools and equipment, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand-or talk trucks with anyone who'd listen. Miles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeannine Armitage Cullom, his parents Ned and Dolly May Cullom, and his siblings: Homer L. Cullom (Margaret), Genevieve Cullom Bowles (Robert), Ruby Cullom Hilton (Bud), Ronald N. Cullom (Carolyn), and Carolyn Cullom Kemp (John). He is survived by his loving son, Miles E. Cullom, Jr. (Callie); his cherished grandchildren, Miles E. Cullom III (Catherine) and Meredith Cullom Coffin (Elliott); and his adored great-grandchildren: Bradley Elizabeth Cullom, Ann Everette Cullom, Callie Jean Coffin, and Chloe James Coffin. Additionally, he is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to those who cared for Miles with tenderness and compassion: Mary, Cathy, Lori, Elizabeth, Jenny, Emily, and Angel. Special thanks also to the dedicated staff at NHC Farragut and Caris Hospice for their exceptional care. Miles will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, kind heart, faith, and quick wit. The family will receive friends at Click Funeral Home in Farragut 11915 Kingston Pike, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 12:00pm-2:00pm. The memorial service will begin at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maryville Church of Christ, 611 Sherwood Dr, Maryville, TN 37801, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/
