Milford "Buddy" DeWayne Taff

Milford "Buddy" DeWayne Taff, age 78 of Ocala, Florida passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025 at Brandley Hospice House.

Buddy was born June 29, 1947 in Oakman, Alabama and moved to Florida at a young age with his family. Buddy was a water/waste water plant operator at General Development Utilities in Silver Springs Shores. Buddy was a member of Grace Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He helped keep the church grounds clean, helped with meals and mostly with clean up. His hobbies included, fishing and bowling. He bowled a perfect game of 300 and he was so proud of that score!

Buddy served his country proudly in the United States Army. He fought in the Vietnam War. He was wounded and received the Purple Heart.

Buddy was preceded in death by his father; James Asbery; mother, Nancy and a sister, Dru.

He is survived by his wife; Mary Taff; two sons, Dennis, Jimmy; a grandson, Ethan and sister, Jo.

In 1978 Buddy married Mary. He stepped into the role of Father to her children, Shelia (deceased), Johnny (deceased) Art and Teresa. He took on that responsibility gladly for forty seven years. From that relationship he gained seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Buddy loved his family. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Grace Baptist Church in Belleview at 11:00 A.M.
