Millie Craine Obituary
Wheaton, IL, leaving behind a legacy of compassionate care in the field of nursing. Born on
October 21, 1934, in Blackstock, South Carolina to Sonny and Rachel Nicks.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Ms. Craine began a 33 year journey
as a Registered Nurse, dedicated to serving patients at Edward Hines V.A. Hospital, Hines, IL. the
largest Veterans hospital in the state of Illinois. In addition, to her Bachelor of Science degree, she earned an additional Associates of Arts degree at College of DuPage in 1976.
Ms. Craine was preceded in death by both of her parents, Sonny and Rachel Nicks and husband
of 49 years, Leroy F. Craine, Jr. (2008). Survived by her daughter, Sheryl Noel, and
granddaughters, Nicole (Gia) and Jasmine, as well as numerous family and friends.
Millie Craine went through 9 decades of changes. She saw cranking phones on the wall, to rotary
dialing phones to cellphones. She was a strong, sophisticated, loving and compassionate woman
who will be truly missed from all of our lives.
