Milo Red Tomahawk, Jr., 62, Fort Yates, ND, passed away January 10, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at DaWise-Perry / Mandan Crematory with Rev. James Red Tomahawk Sr. officiating. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Red Tomahawk Cemetery, Cannon Ball, ND. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place.
Milo Jr. was born May 9, 1959, at Fort Yates, ND, to Milo Sr. and Josephine (Cottonwood) Red Tomahawk. He was raised and educated in Cannon Ball, ND and attended high school in Fort Yates. Milo Jr. worked various jobs throughout his life. He was a kind person, always helpful, to family and friends. He always had a story to tell, or a joke. He had a nickname, "Gman". Then others called him "the Cat." He enjoyed hunting and being the hunting guide for his friends from Detroit Fire Station. His hobbies were fishing, painting, drawing, making Native American arts and crafts. He listened to Pow-Wow music and gospel songs. In his younger years he was a Champion Men's Fancy Dancer, winning throughout the United States and Canada. Milo Jr. always was there when you needed him, for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by one son, Milo III (Pow-Wow) Red Tomahawk; two daughters, Tina Red Tomahawk and Becky Marshall; two brothers, James Red Tomahawk Sr. and Joe Mountain Jr.; three sisters, Judy Red Tomahawk, Beverly Luger and Jewel Felix; special nephew Kenneth (Baby Kenny) Many Horses Jr.; special niece, Kristen Many Horses; numerous grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Milo Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Marlowe Red Tomahawk Sr., Micheal Myron Red Tomahawk; paternal grandparents, Emeron and Annie (Little Warrior) Red Tomahawk; maternal grandparents, Joe and Jenny (Four Swords) Rainbow; uncles, Kenneth (Sioux) Rainbow, Joe (Sunny) Rainbow, Herbert (Hobo) Rainbow, Joe Little Warrior, William Little Warrior, Leo Standish; newphews, Seth Red Tomahawk, Brendell Dogskin, Neil Luger Sr., Sheldon Luger Sr., Frankie Felix; nieces, Amanda Felix, Carrie Ann Wolf Necklace-King; grandchild, Braydon Jace Bearstail; and brother-in-law, Richie Luger.
