Princeton - Milton Leonard "Sonny" Neiman, 86, of Princeton, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at his home in Princeton.
Sonny was born on October 26, 1939, in Princeton to Harvey Preston Neiman and May Esther (Anderson) Neiman. He attended IVCC, completing two years of college coursework.
On October 25, 1981, he married the love of his life, Amie Gerinea Rosal Neiman, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.
Sonny was a dedicated mechanic and painter, working at and owning Neiman's Autobody Repair Shop. He took pride in his craft and the honest work of his hands.
He was a member of the St. Matthews Catholic Church Choir and remained active in his church community throughout his life.
Sonny had a deep love for the outdoors and country living. He enjoyed hiking, joy riding, brush cutting, and combine riding during harvest season. As a teenager, he even learned how to fly. In his younger years, he played baseball and carried that love of the game with him throughout his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Amie Rosal Neiman of Princeton; his brother-in-law James Durrield of Prophetstown; his brother-in-law David Mead of Arizona; and sisters-in-law of Princeton and California.
He was preceded in death by his mother, May E. Neiman; his father, Harvey Preston Neiman; and his aunt, Zelda Mae Neiman.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton, IL.
Funeral services will follow at St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton, IL. at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Graveside service immediately to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton. Father Austin Bosse will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Jason R. Abarca, John Dave R. Abarca, Emmanuel Ascano, Seth Chambers, Romel Gamboa, Michael Ganschow, Peter Gill, Dan Legner, and Darios Orteza.
Honorary pallbearers are James Appenheimer, Dr. Manuel Ascano, and Wayne Abarca.
Sonny will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his devotion to family, and his love for the simple joys of life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Louis Catholic Church of Princeton.
