Milton Nelson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home of Willis on Feb. 25, 2026.
Milton Miles Nelson Sr., beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the age of 84.

Milton lived a full and memorable life marked by a passion for horses, humor, and deep love for his family. He valued connection and took pride in staying involved in the lives of those he loved. He was always willing to help others and his steady presence and strong opinions will be remembered by all who knew him.

Throughout his life, Milton experienced many meaningful chapters that shaped the man he became. He believed in commitment, family, and doing the best he could with the time he was given. He worked hard, provided faithfully, and expressed his love in ways that were uniquely his own.

Milton is survived by the children and extended family who were part of the meaningful chapters of his life. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends who will remember him with love.

Milton's legacy lives on in the generations that follow him - in the lessons he taught, the strength he modeled, and the love that binds his family together. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A service to celebrate Milton's life will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Sam Houston Funeral Home on 1097 in Willis, Texas. A visitation will begin at 10:00, with services starting at 11:00. Burial at Hill Cemetery in New Waverly to immediately follow the funeral service.
