Minetta Lighthiser Obituary
Peggy graduated from Towson High School, Class of 1946. She married Kenneth L. Lighthiser in 1948, and they celebrated 66 years of happy marriage. Primarily a homemaker, she also spent many years working at Donoway's Gift Shop and in the Fine China Department of Hutzler's Department store. A lifelong Episcopalian, she was an active member of Church of the Messiah in Hamilton for 40 years and Saint Thomas in Towson for close to 50 years.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; a son, Kenneth, Jr.; and three brothers, Bud, Mike and Billy McQuade. She is survived by a son, Jeffrey N. Lighthiser of Midlothian, Virginia; three grandchildren, Michael F. Lighthiser (Amanda), Joseph W. Lighthiser (Beth); and James T. Lighthiser (Jake); two great grandchildren, Graham Kenneth and Caroline Grace Lighthiser; and two "Almost Daughters", Christine Burns Ernest and Debra Burns Heckler (Jim).
Friends and family may visit at Ruck Towson Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on October 1, 2025 at 11:00 p.m. at Ruck Towson, with interment following at Parkwood Cemetery in Parkville.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Peggy's memory to Gilchrist Hospice (1131 McCormick Road, Suite 350, Hunt Valley MD 21031); or Edenwald Scholarship Fund (800 Southerly Road, Towson, MD 21086).

Aunt Peg was a bright spot in my day whenever I saw her. She always had a smile and a kind word. Spent many Christmas dinners with her and my family, she loved to entertain. She had a huge heart and was a wonderful lady!
