Minnie Marie Wilson Cowherd, age 92, of Bowling Green and formerly of Elkton, Kentucky, passed away at her home in Bowling Green on August 29, 2025.

The youngest of six children, Minnie was born in Elkton, Kentucky to Luther Andrew and Cora Belle Wilson. After graduating from Elkton High School, she went to work as a secretary for the Todd County Extension Service and Farm Bureau before taking a job at what would become Elkton Apparel, where she retired as the personnel manager. She also worked as a partner of Cowherd’s Accounting with her husband Ford and continued to run the business after his passing before retiring again.

In addition, she served as past Treasurer of Todd County, was a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of Elkton Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

She is survived by her children Rosemarie Wurth-Grice, John Mark Cowherd, and Joann Cowherd; her grandchildren Jonathon, Alex and Andrew Wurth, and Ella Cowherd; three great-grandchildren Evelyn, Sophia, and Frank Wurth, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ford E. Cowherd, Sr., her son Ford E. Cowherd, Jr., her grandson, Keaton Oberhausen, and her siblings.

She chose cremation with a celebration of life to be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM and last until 3:00 PM with a celebration of life following at 3:00 PM.
